Mandatory Fun Beer Works

Mandatory Fun Beer Works is a nano brewery in Smyrna created by the team behind neighboring Viking Alchemist Meadery. Head brewers Dawn and Tamara expanded into beer in part to explore braggot, a centuries-old hybrid of beer and mead that combines malt and honey. That connection remains the brewery’s most distinctive feature: visitors can try small-batch beer on its own or order braggot blends made at the tap using Mandatory Fun beer and Viking Alchemist mead. The taproom leans into a playful, military-inspired theme reflected throughout the brewery’s branding and beer names. It is also set up for casual group visits, with board games available inside and cornhole outdoors. Families and leashed dogs are welcome, making the brewery an approachable stop for visitors exploring Smyrna’s craft beverage scene.
