How We Verify Listings
How Georgia Beer Guide researches and checks every brewery listing, and how to send us a correction.
Georgia Beer Guide exists to help you plan brewery visits with confidence. That only works if the listings are right, so here’s how we build them and keep them current.
What “verified” means here
Every listing on georgiabeerguide.com is verified by our research team, using careful research and modern research tools. We look each brewery up and confirm it’s a real, operating brewery. Then we check its address, hours, website and contact details against public sources. We never list a brewery we haven’t confirmed exists.
All listings live in one central brewery database, and that’s where every fix is made before it shows up on the site.
Where the information comes from
We start with each brewery’s own website and official social pages. We fill in and cross-check from other public sources, such as brewers guild directories and local news. When sources disagree, we go with the brewery’s own information. We don’t mark a brewery as closed based on an unconfirmed review-site post. We look for confirmation from the brewery itself or a reliable report.
What we publish, and what we don’t
- Published: breweries that are open, and new breweries that are coming soon. Coming Soon listings may not have hours yet.
- Not published: breweries that have closed for good are removed from the guide. Temporarily closed breweries are taken down until they reopen.
- Never shown: our internal research notes and review flags stay behind the scenes.
- Not tracked: we don’t keep tap lists, beer menus or event calendars, because they change too often to stay accurate. Where we can, we link to the brewery’s own pages for those.
How we keep it current
Breweries open, move, change hours and sometimes close. Listings are regularly re-checked, and our team watches for openings, closures and changes across Georgia. Breweries and readers help too. A correction from the people who know is the fastest way to fix a listing.
Hours change, especially around holidays and special events. Before you head out, it’s always worth a quick look at the brewery’s own website or social pages.
Brewery-verified Premium profiles
When a brewery upgrades to a Premium profile, it fills out its own profile and supplies its own content, such as photos and its story. That information comes straight from the brewery, so it’s verified by the brewery itself. That’s what a Premium badge will mean.
Free listings, and upgrades that don’t buy a spot
Every operating brewery in Georgia gets a free Basic listing. There’s no charge to be included or to keep your information accurate, and you never have to buy anything to stay listed. Paying for an upgrade never decides whether a brewery is listed. Every listing, free or paid, starts with the same research.
