Tabby House Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom in downtown Darien, housed in the restored Adam Strain Building on the Darien River. Built around 1815, the former warehouse is one of Coastal Georgia’s surviving examples of historic tabby construction and one of the few local structures to endure the Civil War-era burning of Darien. After decades of decline, the building underwent a four-and-a-half-year restoration before becoming the brewery. Tabby House’s beers draw heavily on regional history, with a lineup spanning lagers, IPAs, porters, stouts, wheat beers, and Scottish-style ales whose names reference Darien and the surrounding coast. Visitors can also order food from an on-site menu featuring sandwiches, flatbreads, bratwurst, pretzels, and grazing boards.
