Athentic Brewing Company

Athentic Brewing Company is a neighborhood microbrewery in Athens’ Normaltown area, founded by longtime homebrewers Paul Skinner and Mark Johnson. Their brewing roots date to 2011, when homebrewing grew from a church-group activity into the former Kudzu Brewing Company and eventually a commercial brewery. Athentic focuses on clean, approachable beer styles rather than chasing trends, with lagers, pale ales, IPAs, darker ales, and other rotating styles represented in its broader brewing program. The taproom is designed as a community gathering place and sits within walking or biking distance of nearby neighborhoods, restaurants, parks, and businesses. Athentic also produces its own spirits, giving visitors options beyond beer, including draft cocktails and other beverages. Food is typically provided through rotating pop-ups and food trucks rather than an in-house kitchen.
