Contrast Artisan Ales is a small brewery in downtown Chamblee and the original location of the brewery founded by former Twain’s Brewpub head brewer Chase Medlin in 2018. The taproom occupies a converted garage and pairs a compact, modern setting with prominent work by local artists. Contrast’s beer program is deliberately broad: lighter blondes, pales, and ambers sit alongside kettle sours made with a house Lactobacillus culture, dry-hopped IPAs ranging from West Coast to hazy styles, and dark beers such as porters and stouts brewed year-round. Some beers incorporate fruit, herbs, spices, tea, coffee, nitro service, or oak aging. The Chamblee location does not center on a permanent kitchen; food trucks and pop-ups regularly provide dining options. It is also accessible by MARTA, making it an easy brewery stop without a car.
