Printer’s Ale Manufacturing Co. is a 20-barrel production brewery and taproom in Carrollton, founded in 2017 by Greg Smith. Its name reflects Smith’s family history in both brewing and printing: an ancestor operated a gasthaus in Germany in the early 1800s, while later generations built a printing business that expanded to Carrollton in the 1980s. That connection carries through the brewery’s branding and beer names. The lineup spans approachable lagers and ales, IPAs, porters, wheat beers, and more specialized barrel-aged offerings. Printer’s also operates The Kitchen at Printer’s Ale, serving a farm-to-table-focused menu designed to pair with the beer. For visitors, the combination of a working production brewery, a full food program, and a distinctive family story gives the Carrollton taproom more depth than a simple tasting-room stop.
